PC Game Guides and Checklists

Over the years, I have created several PC game guides and checklists (as well as various notes) for some of my favorite PC games. I thought it was time I shared some of them. Feel free to use, modify, and redistribute them as you wish. I made these for myself, so I really am not concerned with credit or anything like that. These are mostly cRPGs (computer role-playing games). Aside from PDFs and text documents, these are all ODF documents designed for 1920×1080 resolutions without added sidebars in your office suite. Spreadsheets may have protected sheets/cells, but there are no passwords, so you can edit them as you wish.

As far as I know, none of the information in any of these documents is copyrighted. Though many have been stored on my hard drive for several years or more, so I could be wrong. If anyone knows of any copyright infringement, please let me know in the comments (with a link validating the claim) and I will remove that document immediately.

More documents may be added in the future.

First-person Shooters

Most FPS games don’t really require a checklist. They are usually straight-forward. But I have made a couple.

Dead Island

Where to buy: Steam.
Checklist: Dead Island Checklist. Does not include Riptide because I just could never get into that enough to complete it.

Far Cry 3

Where to buy: Steam.
Checklist: Far Cry 3 Checklist.

Role-playing Games

While it may sometimes be more fun to play an RPG without referring to a checklist (especially on your first playthrough), they can be helpful for completionists that want to experience every detail of the game.

Baldur’s Gate Enhanced Edition

Where to buy: GOG.
Checklist: Baldur’s Gate EE Checklist. You could use this checklist for the original edition as well by just ignoring the entries for EE.

Baldur’s Gate II Enhanced Edition

Where to buy: GOG.
Checklist: WIP. I have started this checklist, but not completed it yet since I haven’t fully played through the EE version.

Dragon Age: Origins

Where to buy: GOG.
Main Game Checklist: Dragon Age Origins Checklist
Awakening Checklist: Dragon Age Awakening Checklist.

Dragon Age 2

Where to buy: Origin, but you will have to buy all the DLC separately. You may still be able to find the disc version from stores like Amazon, but it will probably cost more.
Checklist: Dragon Age 2 Checklist. I was particularly proud of this checklist, since it included all the approval choices for every quest (color-coded).

The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind

Don’t miss my article on modding this game.
Where to buy: GOG.
Checklist: Morrowind Checklist.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

Where to buy: GOG.
Checklist: Oblivion Checklist.

Fallout 3

Where to buy: GOG.
Checklist: Fallout 3 Checklist.

Fallout: New Vegas

Where to buy: GOG.
Checklist: Fallout New Vegas Checklist.
List of all items: Fallout New Vegas Items.

Fallout 4

Where to buy: Steam.
Checklist: Fallout 4 Checklist.
Gameplay Tips: Fallout 4 Gameplay Tips.

Jade Empire

Where to buy: GOG.
Checklist: Jade Empire Checklist.

Mass Effect

Where to buy: Steam.
Walkthrough: ME1 Walkthrough ODT or ME1 Walkthrough PDF.
For a checklist, I recommend the PDF checklist by Teryx. The official website has been down for a long time, but I reached out to Teryx and he told me you can download his old Mass Effect checklists here: https://d.pr/f/4beoir.

Mass Effect 2

Where to buy: Steam.
Walkthrough: ME2 Walkthrough ODT or ME2 Walkthrough PDF.
Squadmates Checklist: ME2 Squadmates. A good companion to the above walkthrough. Helps keep track of Normandy conversations with squadmates and helps determine how many will survive the final part of the suicide mission.
For a checklist, I recommend the PDF checklist by Teryx. The official website has been down for a long time, but I reached out to Teryx and he told me you can download his old Mass Effect checklists here: https://d.pr/f/4beoir.

Mass Effect 3

Where to buy: Origin.
Walkthrough: ME3 Walkthrough ODT or ME3 Walkthrough PDF.
Teryx was slow at first to releast an ME3 checklist, which was also hosted on the site that is now dead. But while I was waiting for a checklist, I made one of my own, which has evolved over the years. It is an HTML document which you can save to your desktop. It doesn’t use cookies (using HTML5 Web Storage instead) and is all contained in a single file. It will calculate your war assets for you as you go and shows the best order to do missions in. I’m rather proud of it actually. Here it is: Mass Effect 3 Checklist 3.0 alpha. If you would rather use Teryx’s PDF checklist, you can get it here: https://d.pr/f/4beoir.

Planescape: Torment

Where to buy: GOG. This is for the new Enchanced Edition (which I plan to get to after BG2:EE), but it also comes with the original game.
Weapons List: Planescape: Torment Weapons. I can’t remember how this list got started. I think it was from a website that no longer exists and I made my own alterations. This was many years ago though.

The Witcher

Where to buy: GOG.
Checklist: Witcher Checklist.

The Witcher 2: Assassin of Kings

Where to buy: GOG.
Checklist: Witcher 2 Checklist.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

Where to buy: GOG.
Checklist: Witcher 3 Checklist.
Guides: Witcher 3 Maximizing XP and Witcher 3 Possible Endings.

Space Simulators

I’ve been a fan of Space Sims since playing Elite and later Wing Commander. For those interested in the genre and want something more modern, I highly recommend the X Series, which can be purchased on Steam here. Never really made checklists of my own, but I do have some for the following.

Freelancer

Where to buy: Amazon. This is a bit expensive for such an old game. You can find used versions much cheaper.
Checklist: Freelancer Checklist.
Weapons List: Freelancer Weapons List. I can’t swear that I made this one myself. It looks like one of my old spreadsheets. It will allow you to choose which guns/turrents you are going to install and see the effectiveness of them as a group.
